ACIP Library — Files Stored as RTF

A number of files in the library are saved in RTF (Rich Text Format) rather than plain UTF-8 text. When such a file is read as text, RTF control words — the font table, the colour table, and a backslash (\) at the end of almost every line — are mixed into the content and have to be stripped out before the Tibetan can be read. This report lists the files so they can be re-saved as plain text at source. Most were created by macOS TextEdit (the cocoartf signature in the header).

What the files look like

The heaviest case is S19086E — 18,492 lines, every one ending in a backslash. The real transliteration is there, wrapped in RTF:

Sorted by severity (share of lines ending in a backslash), then by size. A .rtf tag marks the 1 files that also carry an .rtf extension; the rest are named .txt but hold RTF inside.
